TMobile Wing (Hermes) and XP ActiveSync 4.5
Having troubles syncing your Wing (or Hermes generic model) to Windows XP ActiveSync? It works great with Vista, but the office XP computer would never sync. I finally dinked around today and found a fix.
On the device, got to Start > Settings > Connections tab > USB to PC.
As it says, this setting “can help with problems connecting ActiveSync”. Uncheck it.
Unplug the USB and plug it back in. Ding!
Now, why the HECK doesn’t the troubleshooting materials that pop up DIRECT you to this setting that can fix the problem.
