FIX: IE 7.0 and RunOnce

November 26, 2007

One of the most annoying things with Server 2003 R2 and installing IE 7.0 was that it stuck on the RunOnce page.  When IE 7.0 pops up, it keeps looping through configuring the search engine preferences, etc.

To fix it, a quick registry patch works like a charm.  Here’s the code, or you can download the .reg file from here.

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main]
“RunOnceComplete”=dword:00000001
“RunOnceHasShown”=dword:00000001
